About Nicholas
Performing & Recording Credits
Nicholas Radina was raised just outside of Cincinnati in Milford, OH.
He started playing music at age 8 and professionally at age 13 playing guitar and singing in local R&B clubs with his first group, Out Of the Blue.
In 1994, Nicholas was awarded a scholarship to the Berklee College of Music in Boston .
At age 19, Nicholas began his infatuation with Latin music co-founding the legendary Cincinnati Afro-Caribbean group, Bailando Desnudo, playing guitar, cuatro, percussion and singing.
Bailando Desnudo brought it’s brand of Salsa, Reggae, Soca and other Caribbean music to Cincinnati area and beyond by playing over 250 shows a year throughout the midwest and east coast.
Nick has shared the stage with acts such as El Gran Combo, Grupo Niche, Dr. Loco and Puerto Rican Power.
In 2005, Nicholas performed with the legendary cuatristra, Yomo Toro and pianist Larry Harlow at the CincyLatino Festival.
He appears on nine recording’s including a 2004 grammy nominated release.
His music has been featured on television commercials, radio and podcasts.
Locally, Nick performs with ¡Zumba! (a band which he founded and features his talent as a Cuatro player) Salsa Caliente, Tropicoso and Salsa Brava.
Beyond his musical credits, Nicholas is a talented and in-demand sound engineer. Most recently, Nicholas was touring the United States with the band, Over the Rhine, as a tour manager and monitor engineer supporting the groups 18th recording entitled, The Trumpet Child.
A skillful public relations specialist, Nicholas grabs television, radio and print coverage for Cincinnati’s Latin music scene.
Nick’s most recent recording features his cuatro playing on the Latin Jazz release, “Drummers Speak” by San Francisco drummer and friend, Brian Andres and the Afro Cuban Jazz Cartel.
Nicholas also co-founded founded CincyLatino in 2003 and worked with the company until 2006.
The organization is involved in producing Latino culture in Greater Cincinnati, by providing unique and relevant events that celebrate Cincinnati’s growing vibrant local Latino scene.
